I adore their patina, however, do to the design of the chair I must keep them sealed to prevent the seat from rusting. The metal ribbon seat is springy and squishes down when you sit.
I love this photo! Now by no means are they where they will stay, but I wanted to try them out in the yard! And, yes, that is a steeple in my back yard, and yes, it is crooked! I've got to straighten it out here soon.
I picked up four of these lovelies. I found them on Craigslist! Of course, I know so many dealers and collectors of antiques, I knew the shop owners who had these and immediately put them on hold!
There is one arm chair and three side chairs! I can't wait to have everyone over for a garden party! I'm hoping to have one Memorial Day Week-End! You can spot the picnic table that used to be in my kitchen. I think it enjoys its new home in the yard.
I love this style chair! They are cast iron, but because of the seat design, they are very comfortable and not as heavy as some cast iron garden chairs.
Just look at that yummy chippy goodness! I plan to spray seal them to lock in the patina and lock out the rust!
Here are a few more photos of all their vintage goodness! I'll be back later this week with my tutorial (finally) on the lovely vent hood in my kitchen!
Happy Spring!
