Joyeux Noël--Have A Very Merry French Christmas!

Wow! I can't believe we are two whole Sundays into Advent! This year has flown by so fast! It will be 2013 before we know it!!! I am so thankful that I am finally in a job I LOVE for the first time since I left the Antiques Mall I used to run! So much has happened this year that would have never happened if not for friends made while working there! Anyways....here is a glimpse of the very French Christmas decor in my dining room this year.

I love this wonderful reproduction of a French antique infant Jesus, complete with hand-made manger. The starburst style halo adds extra impact to such a favorite treasure.

This "sugared" fruit topiary is one I have shared again and again...it started life as one of those 1970s pottery class things...I whitewashed it, then covered it with mica snow.

You can see the recent Gothic style chairs at the head of the table, just wait until you see the chairs that will replace the aqua bistro chairs! They are Neo-Gothic, and beautifully carved--complete with a quatrefoil pattern on the splat! I have to re-glue some of the joints, then paint and re-cover the seats, but they will be worth it! They are THE CHAIRS I have been looking for--for several years!

This is one of my favorite Nativity scenes. It is also a reproduction of a French antique.

The Gothic Arch mirror was a fairly recent find. I plan to whitewash it, but I haven't yet done so.

The details on this Nativity are amazing.

I bunched up several yards of the Creepy Fabric from Halloween to soften the edges and stand in for swaddling clothes!

Here is another shot of the room. I kept the same table setting from Halloween--shhhh! Don't tell! I did remove the cauldrons!

I love how the chandelier reflects so in this mirror! I LOVE how the gilding pops against the muted aqua wall color!

I love this vignette of church altar candlesticks, with this beautiful Department 56 Mary and Jesus.

I'll leave you with this as a final image! I'll be back soon! Wish me luck, as my car died and is in the shop, but my WONDERFUL aunt lent me her BMW Z3 to drive around in the mean time!
