The Vintage Farmhouse Christmas Guest Post

Hi, Nicki here from The Vintage Farmhouse So excited to be asked by Mikey to guest post. I adore his decor and the blues in his home is actually what inspired me to finally make a decorating decision in my house for the holidays this year!

Christmas decorating is always the hardest for me because there are so many decorating choices to be made and so many different directions you can go with it.

While I adore the layer upon layer of traditional decor look, it just didn't fit in with the style already have in my home.
If I had one piece of advice it would be don't be afraid to go non-traditional!
In our kitchen I kept it fairly simple in keeping with my vintage farmhouse feel.
Some silver baubles in a bowl on the island and a boxwood wreath.

My oldest daughters room received the bright candy colored treatment which I think pops nicely amidst all of the light white, pink and greys. She decorated her little white tree with glitter ornies.

I also went pretty simple {but non traditional} with my living room and dining room.

I was originally going to go with a green tree, but found this little white one at the Goodwill. I went back and forth on which bulbs to use on this tree and finally went with the blues and I love it!! I added in pops of lighter greens to still keep some "greenery" around.
Mantel top. This bowl contains these moss balls year round, but some blue vintage ornaments add to the holiday touch.
I am pretty much in love with the mercury glass garland I found at a thrift store. I might just leave these hanging year round!

Then I hung some glitter stars and clear ornaments with tinsel inside from the dining chandelier for some Christmas Magic!

The buffet got jazzed up with a little wintery goodness here and there.

Hope you enjoyed the peek at our home!
Thank you so much to Mikey for asking me to guest post!
